When you are ready to start adding offers and building chains or start managing your sales progression you will need to add your listing to VMC.
Add a Listing
1. There are two ways of adding the listing.
The first is from ‘Add a Listing’ in the top menu.
The second, is from ‘Add a Listing’ on the ‘My Properties’ page.
2. In both scenarios, you will be prompted to enter the property postcode. Once
entered, click ‘Search’ and select the correct address from the list available.
3. Select your branch information from the drop-down menu.
Note: If your branch information does not show and your property has been publicly available for more than 24 hours see point 4 below.
4. If your company/branch information does not display in the list below, you can
select ‘Create a new listing’ to add the branch manually.
5. You will then be prompted enter the ‘Branch’, ‘listing ‘Price’ and ‘SSTC’ date.
6. Once added, you will be redirected to your new listing and where information is
available, ViewMyChain will automatically provide updates on key milestones, create any associated chain links with information on the selling agent, and milestone updates for each property in the chain where applicable.
Error messages:
'This listing is already in a chain':
This means that the listing is present in another chain so ViewMyChain needs to investigate. This happens from time to time.
You will see that we ask you to 'click here' to report the issue. Once you do this, we will open and prepare an email containing the relevant details:
'This listing already has a buyer':
This means that the listing that you are trying to add is already in a chain and therefore cannot be added to either your chain.
Example of message:
Try the following:
- Return to My Properties and select the Status filter and click ALL
- Enter the postcode of the property to see whether you can find the chain
- If you can find the property double check the links in the chain and break the chain so that you can connect it to the new chain
- It is more likely that the property is in a chain that belongs to a different branch and you will not be able to find it. Please contact ViewMyChain support for assistance providing the address that you are trying to link to.
'Brand/Branch not seen when adding a chain link':
This might happen from time to time as branches open, close and experience other changes.
If we haven't seen the brand / branch and you select "create a new listing", you will see this:
Enter the details to see a list of branches and look for the branch:
If we do not display the brand / branch you need in the list of results, please contact customer support to arrange for this to be added.
